A rooted adventure in Sayalonga.

In September 2024 we moved from the Netherlands to Sayalonga in Spain to start a new adventure.

We bring different backgrounds. Susanne has worked in the staffing industry and for years bought wine from around the world for a major Dutch retailer.

Petra has worked in media, e-commerce and the book world.

We both wanted to spend more time outdoors and pursue a meaningful business. Given our adventurous spirit, we took the plunge and moved to Spain.

Today, we want to commit ourselves to a better world and improving nature. With Vetiver Spain we believe we can do that. It is a fantastic natural product that benefits both people and the climate.

We have a strong personal interest in agriculture and Vetiver in particular, and we take on the task of introducing more people to Vetiver and thus making the world a little better!

About 12 years ago, David and Anna relocated to Sayalonga, a small village in Andalucía about 45 minutes east of Málaga.

Their mountainside home had a lot of unusable land, and terracing it only made the soil erosion problem worse when the heavy rains came.

Unable to build retaining walls in the campo, Anna remembered Vetiver Grass from Zimbabwe. They planted bare root slips, the erosion was quickly resolved, and Vetiver Spain was born.
